Family Support Worker (Windmill Family Centre, Hemel Hempstead)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Worker at Windmill Family Centre working with an enthusiastic and friendly team.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working as a member of a team that promotes an environment that safeguards and protects children; and could use a variety of methods to actively engage and support families.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Level 3-4 in a recognised professional qualification in health, education, childcare, social care or equivalent.
• Experience of working with families (2+ years) including experience of home visiting and case load management.
• Knowledge of the importance of safeguarding children
• Knowledge and experience of facilitating parenting programmes e.g. Parenting Puzzle, Families Feeling Safe

The role will involve:

• Supporting hard to reach families either in person, by phone, or virtually (i.e. MS Teams, WhatsApp etc.)
• Delivering 1:1 programmes of work in order to achieve the best outcomes for a family.
• Computer literacy and keeping accurate records
• Partnership working

The role will involve a mixture of working from home and from our two centre bases at Westfield and South Oxhey Family Centres. This exciting role will include both virtual and face to face (Covid secure) work with families. You need to have excellent communication skills and have good IT skills (including the ability or willingness to use Facebook Live, Zoom, and other platforms to deliver targeted support to families)

Car Driver and Level 3 in Early Years essential.
